One of the key problems of the new material is the low strength compared to polystyrene. However, even in this form, objects can be used as floating equipment, aerodynamic surfaces or extensible modules for astronauts. As proof of the efficiency of the new technology, a toy boat has been shown to be capable of bearing 20 times the initial weight after expansion.
