This question can be the subject of thousands of debates, where Artificial Intelligence and the human soul could struggle for hours to come up with a «correct» answer, if such an answer exists.
In the past we have already seen Artificial Intelligence systems that create music, and today we are going to discuss the subject of painting.
Those responsible for the AI_NORN project have created a robot that learns to paint, and they present it to us as follows:
Our idea is the joint creation of paintings by a robot and a human, something that unites the positions of a long-standing confrontation on «only a man can be a creator» and «AI will soon surpass a human in art». AI_NORN uses technology to create works of art in classics: canvases, paintings, brushes. His works of art are related to a new artistic movement: neuroimpressionism.
The code created «reflects» on the concept of human artist, compares it to a library of knowledge and two robotic hands transfer the result to paper or canvas. A home-made robotic platform-table allows you to increase the standard working area for a small robot and create images up to 100 50 cm in size.
The project was created by two «data science artists» from Moscow, who started the project in 2019.
In Art-Supreme they announced the collaboration with the AI NORN project, where they indicate that it is the first time in art history that the robotic arm is painting a work of art based on the digital representation of another artificially generated work of art.
