COVID-19: England and Scotland launch their exposure alert apps
The world is already beginning to show signs of a movement back to normality (in some places more than others, of course), but this does not mean that the new Coronavirus (COVID-19) has been scanned: until the long-awaited vaccine arrives, we still need to take all necessary precautions and practice as much social isolation as possible.

The world is already beginning to show signs of a movement back to normality (in some places more than others, of course), but this does not mean that the new Coronavirus (COVID-19) has been scanned: until the long-awaited vaccine arrives, we still need to take all necessary precautions and practice as much social isolation as possible.

That’s why many countries continue to launch their own tracking and contact alert applications for infected people – integrated, of course, into the jointly developed API by Apple and Google. The most recent examples come from the UK.

England And Wales

The British government has announced that England and Wales will receive a unified contact alert app, to be released on the next 24. The app was developed by the NHS (National Health Service, the country’s universal public health system) after months of coming and going, in which the British Parliament did not decide whether or not to adopt the Apple and Google API.

The app will bring some cards up the sleeve that are not very common for apps like: users will be able, for example, to scan QR codes to record visits to certain high-concentration locations (such as hospitals, shopping malls, restaurants or business centers), helping authorities monitor the spread of the virus.

Scotland

Separately, Scotland announced the arrival of its own app, Protect Scotland.

Developed by the local NHS branch, the app has the features already expected from the category: it is possible to add test results, turn on or off exposure notifications and get tips on how to proceed if you have COVID-19 symptoms. The app is now available on the App Store and Google Play.

Dozens of other countries around the world. And, as we always say, the more people you use, the better.
